All Together for a Sing-A-Long…

You’ll Never Walk Alone. I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles. Blue Moon… I could go on and on and on. Point is, it’s not a football match without the crowd making noise, and chants are an essential part of the atmosphere. Sometimes they can be for the love of a team (see Port Vale), the joy of a particular player (Wigan & Ireland, West Ham, Arsenal, AFC Wimbledon… the list could go on!), or even as abuse to the opposition or the greatest rival (see Burnley) – can you really say you’ve... England’s Golden Moment: The Golden Anniversary

Chris Farlowe was Out Of Time at #1 in the charts, BBC still broadcast in black and white, and the royalty at the top was… well, Queen Elizabeth II! July 30th, 1966. A very different time to now, but England‘s biggest chance to shine was upon them: The World Cup final, in England, and they’re in it against West Germany. The tournament had begun in a rather bemusing way, as a dog became a hero when Pickles found a stolen Jules Rimet Trophy (the cup given to the World Cup... Read More

The First Trophy Is Sky Blue – With A Hero Goalie

Penalty shootouts. Nervous for everyone involved – and usually it’s decided by an off-shot, or the odd save here or there. But Manchester City‘s Willy Caballero – a man who had a disaster against Chelsea in the FA Cup just last week – pulled off a goalkeeping performance that’s going to be talked about for some time. Not one. Not even two… but THREE consecutive saves from Liverpool shots left the reds with no chance to even get involved in the shootout. Manchester City won the Capital One Cup 3-1... Read More

Flourishing Foxes – Leicester’s Impressive Run

Before the beginning of the season, you probably didn’t expect the top royal blue team to be Leicester after 5 games, did you? It’s only a mere few months ago where, with 9 games to go, Leicester were bottom of the Premier League having won just 4 games all season. Then, on April 4th, the fifth win of the season came for the Foxes after beating West Ham 2-1. Following on were victories against West Brom and Swansea City which finally lifted Leicester from the bottom and up to 18th,... Read More

Get Harry In A Car – It’s Deadline Day!

Time is running out – Harry’s car is run… the reporters are at the team gro… the deadline is at ele… oh come on, what kind of transfer deadline day is this if NONE of those are correct!?! That aside, things have been pretty hectic this summer and it all ends at 6PM today (over here at least – just as a heads-up to anyone who’s thinking of doing a transfer to Spain today, it ain’t happening). So we might not have Redknapp doing interviews from his car window, but... Read More

FA Cup Final: All in the A’s

So when it came down to it all… all we had to do to get our FA Cup final was pick the first two teams alphabetically in the Premier League. The final, taking place this weekend pits Aston Villa – who managed to hang on to their Premier League status this season – against 3rd placed (and current FA Cup holders) Arsenal. It seems inevitable as to who should win this one, but as we’ve seen even just 2 years ago with Wigan and Manchester City, it can be anything... Read More

Fight For Survival: Hanging On In There

It’s the final week of the Premier League 2014/15, and there’s still some uncertainties left to decide. We know Chelsea are champions, and we know QPR and Burnley will be returning to the Championship next season – but who will join them? As things stand, it will either Newcastle or Hull City. However for Sunderland it may had been them too if not for securing a draw against Arsenal last night which saw them with enough points to be safe. Avoiding a loss guaranteed their place for the Premier League next season –... Read More
