Just three games later however, that 12 point-lead has been whittled down to just 3 behind early title challengers Ipswich Town as the Foxes have lost three games in-a-row – turning the Championship on its head. The final, taking place this weekend pits Aston Villa – who managed to hang on to their Premier League status this season – against 3rd placed (and current FA Cup holders) Arsenal. It seems inevitable as to who should win this one, but as we’ve seen even just 2 years ago with Wigan and Manchester City, it can be anything... Read More

The Playoffs – We’re Halfway There

So, the chase for promotion continues – and two of our finals are set. The first of these happens this Sunday, when Bristol Rovers and Grimsby Town fight for a league position next season. Neither are strangers to league football, either – for Rovers, they spent 94 consecutive years there until their relegation last year, whereas Grimsby went 117 consecutive years there, and are only the fourth team to have competed in all top 5 divisions. Grimsby since have been oh-so-close in returning for the past few seasons – in the last... Read More
