The Last Promotion Spots Of 2023…

Last week, we covered the story of the Championship Play-Off Final between Coventry City and Luton Town. But they’re not the only teams fighting for promotion this Bank Holiday Weekend!

There’s still two other spots left to fill – those fighting in the League One and League Two Play-Off Finals. In League One, it’s between Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday. The game on Bank Holiday Monday sees two teams with only a short amount of time looking to go up – Barnsley who were only relegated from the Championship last season want an immediate return; whereas Sheffield United are looking to end a 2-year run in the third division.

On Sunday, the League Two Play-Off Final sees Carlisle United take on Stockport County. Carlisle have spent the last 9 years in League Two and are hoping to finally move back up, but they’ll have to take on a resurgent Stockport County who have been making massive gains over the last near decade. After hitting a low of 14th place in the 2013/14 Conference North League (the sixth tier), County have claimed a better position in every subsequent season, including promotions in both 2019 and 2022. Stockport, therefore, are looking for a rare back-to-back promotion challenge with this game.

Who will claim the final spots in their respective divisions above? Find out this weekend and make sure you’re supporting your teams with our exclusive designs in store!
