RIP Denis Law: 1940-2025

The football world is mourning the loss of a true legend, Denis Law, who passed away at the age of 84 on Friday. Known for his incredible skills on the field, Law played for both Manchester United and the national Scotland team, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of football.

As part of the famous United Trinity alongside Bobby Charlton and George Best, Law made a significant impact during his time at Manchester United, where he spent the majority of his domestic career. With 171 goals in 309 appearances, he helped lead the team to victory in the First Division in 1964-65 and 1966-67, the FA Cup in 1962-63, and the Charity Shield in 1965 and 1967. His talent and dedication to the sport was recognized when he was awarded the prestigious Ballon d’Or in 1964, making him the only Scotsman to achieve this honor.

Law’s success was not limited to his club career, as he also made a name for himself while representing Scotland. Holding the joint record for the most goals scored with 30, Law showcased his scoring prowess on the international stage.
