FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 Final: The Stage Is Set

So here we go. We now know the final of the 2015 World Cup Final.

First off, reaching the finals for their fourth time is the USA. Beating the goal scoring machine that were the Germans during the tournament 2-0 shows that America’s defense has been that much stronger – in fact, only Australia in the opening match have managed to put one behind USA so far, which is bad news for their opponents and defending champions Japan.

For Japan, this sets up a rematch of the World Cup Final of just four years ago – where they managed to shock the USA by ending their 100% record in World Cup Finals. The question is, can history repeat itself again and can the Japanese retain their crown – especially after the shaky performance against England where they managed to get through due to a very unlucky own goal in the dying moments for the Lionesses?

And what of England? Certainly the stronger of the two sides with pure bad luck bringing their hopes of a first ever final to a horrible end, they must pick themselves up for the 3rd place match against Germany – which given both teams’ performances this tournament should be a close encounter.

Either way, this is a World Cup Final weekend you cannot afford to miss!
