A Tight Fight In League One!

The top of the table looks very interesting in the third division of English football right now!

Every point clearly counts in the final stretch of the season – the top three currently have 9 games to go, with Portsmouth leading the way on 77 points, 5 clear of 2nd place Derby County, with Bolton a further point behind in 3rd.

The table then shows Peterborough and Barnsley a handful behind on 68 and 67 points respectively; however they still have an extra game to play – meaning there’s the possibility of closing the gap to those top three and having a five-way fight for the final automatic promotion spot!

Meanwhile in the last playoff spot, Stevenage find themselves a point clear of Oxford United (61 to 60) but they do have a game in hand to try and extend that gap further.

To summarise – nothing’s confirmed in terms of the champion, automatic promotion or playoff spots, and doesn’t look to close to being resolved any time soon which is just how we like it (there’s nothing quite like a little bit of late season drama, after all)!
