The Wheelbarrow Song (Notts County) Womens Slim Fit T-Shirt

One of the more modern chants, "The Wheelbarrow Song" is based off a traditional folk song "On Top Of Old Smoky", which reached the US charts in the 50's when recorded by The Weavers. The origins of where the chant began are debated. According to Notts County's official website, they cite the origin as an away game from April 1990 where they were losing 2-0 with less than 10 minutes left. Fans of Shrewsbury Town, who they were facing, were singing On Top Of Old Smoky so Notts County fans came up with The Wheelbarrow Song. Supposedly, this spurred the players on so much that they scored two goals back to draw the game and the song stuck ever since. Other theories suggest a groundsman on the pitch during half time lost a wheel on his wheelbarrow, and another suggests then manager Neil Warnock said "When I first came to Notts County all I had was a wheelbarrow... and the wheel fell off that" in a local interview, which is where the song was generated. No matter where it started, all that matters is this Magpies song is a classic - and this makes for an essential design!
